Cherry Valley Festival

Celebrate Cherry Valley’s natural beauty at the annual Cherry Valley Festival, to be held 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at the Josie Porter Farm, 6514 Cherry Valley Road, Stroudsburg.

The event will feature nature walks, farm tours, bird walks, music, arts and crafts vendors, a benefit auction, and food.

Special events include:

11 a.m.: Cooking demonstration by Mikuna Kitchen. Learn how to make gnocchi from scratch, plus how to use seasonal vegetables for easy dinners.

12:30 p.m.: Music Naturally with Veronika Roemer. In this audience-participation show, learn how to create instruments from stone, bamboo, metal and more.

2 p.m.: “Bats of the Valley” with Marilyn Kitchell Straton, wildlife biologist

3 p.m.: “Critters of the Wild” with Roger Spotts of Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center

Admission is free, with plenty of free parking.

The Brodhead Watershed Association is a non-profit environmental organization formed in 1989.  BWA is dedicated to protecting and preserving water resources and the environment of the Brodhead watershed and the water quality of the Brodhead, Cherry, Marshalls, McMichael, Paradise and Pocono creeks and their tributaries. The BWA assists municipalities, residents, businesses and groups with protecting natural resources through education, workshops, seminars, public programs and stream monitoring.
