Seminars designed to help spur economic development opportunities in region
East Stroudsburg, PA – A free workshop designed to help existing businesses and start-up companies will be held Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m. at the Middle Smithfield Municipal Township Building, said Rep. Rosemary M. Brown (R-Monroe/Pike).
The workshop, presented by the Middle Smithfield Township Economic Development Committee, will focus on information about financing and expansion for existing businesses and start-ups. It will include professional assistance, services and new financial opportunities.
“The key to a thriving area is a strong business community,” Brown said. “It’s important to share this type of valuable information with business leaders and those who are seeking to start their own ventures. There are numerous resources available right here in Monroe County that can help someone who is looking to expand or start their own business, and this seminar will bring them all together.”
Organizations offering information will include the Greater Pocono Chamber of Commerce, Small Business Administration, East Stroudsburg University’s Entrepreneurial Group, PNC Bank, Wayne Bank, Olmstead Ruiz Smith LLC and Baxter Commercial Real Estate, among others.
In addition to the Middle Smithfield Township Economic Development Committee, the workshop is also being sponsored by the Middle Smithfield Township Board of Supervisors.
“This workshop is one of the ways to promote economic development in our area, and at the state level, I’ve been working with my colleagues to implement good policies to help our job creators,” Brown said. “From streamlining the permitting process to business tax reform, the policies we’re advancing in Harrisburg are designed to help job creators and make Pennsylvania a friendlier place in which to do business.”
The township building is located at 25 Municipal Drive, East Stroudsburg. Refreshments will be available.
