Honesdale, PA – William Schweighofer, Chairman of the Board of The Honesdale National Bank, announced that David E. Raven has been named as the bank’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Raven was also named to serve on both The Honesdale National Bank and the HONAT Bancorp Inc. Boards of Directors. He will officially join HNB on March 13, 2017.
In making the announcement, Mr. Schweighofer stated, “We are extremely pleased that David has agreed to join our bank. His proven record of leadership and achievement are ideally suited to continuing – and enhancing – HNB’s long rich history.”
Mr. Raven commented, “I’m honored to be joining HNB, an organization that has achieved much success over many years. I look forward to working with the entire HNB team to build on this success.”
Raven brings over 30 years of experience as a bank executive to his position at Honesdale National. He served as President and CEO of Pennstar Bank, having overseen the merger of LA Bank and Pioneer American Bank in 2000. Most recently, he served as President of Retail Banking for NBT Bank and President of their Pennsylvania banking operations.
David holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Maine and an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University (formerly New Hampshire College).
Mr. Raven has served numerous community and industry related organizations, most notably as Board Member and past Chairman of the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce, Board Member and past Campaign Chair of the United Way of Lackawanna and Wayne Counties, Board Member of the Great Valley Technology Alliance, Board Member and past Chair of the Professional Development Policy Committee of the Pennsylvania Bankers Association, and Board Member and Chair of the Retail Banking Executive Committee of the New York Bankers Association.
David and his wife Karen reside in Moscow, PA and are the proud parents of three adult children, Nicholas, Michael and Kaitlyn.
