Honesdale, PA / May 7, 2018 / The Dime Bank recently received the United Way of Lackawanna and Wayne Counties (United Way) Platinum Hand Award in recognition of “superior commitment to the people of our community through corporate and employee giving.” The Platinum Hand Award is given to corporate donors who give in the upper 10th of the National Trade Group Average plus 5% over the prior year. In Wayne County alone, all employee and corporate contributions totaled over $125,000.00. Combine this with over $3 million raised in Lackawanna County, and the United Way was able to give a “hand up” to hundreds of agencies that help fight for better education, safety and overall health of our friends and neighbors. In addition to The Dime Bank’s recognition, the United Way announced that they have received the coveted Charity Navigator, 4-Star rating for the sixth consecutive year. Charity Navigator uses data-driven analysis to evaluate the charitable sector.
