The Auxiliary of the Pocono Medical Center Exceeds its Pledge Amount and Honors Auxiliary Members at Annual June Luncheon

East Stroudsburg, PA (September 9, 2016) – The Auxiliary of the Pocono Medical Center celebrated the completion of its 6-year pledge of $500,000 to the Pocono Medical Center. Members of The Auxiliary presented its final check of $50,000 to Jeff Snyder, President and CEO of Pocono Medical Center, at their annual June luncheon, which exceeded its total pledge amount of $500,000.

The Auxiliary held multiple fundraising efforts from monthly sales held at Pocono Medical Center for its employees, to its Annual Auction hosted by Blue Ridge TV13 and East Stroudsburg University, the Annual Gala, and its Dine & Wine Glass Paint Party hosted by the Sycamore Grille.

The Auxiliary also honored Shawn Thoms, First-Vice President of The Auxiliary and Oncology Service Line Analyst of the Pocono Medical Center’s Dale and Frances Hughes Cancer Center, as recipient of the VIP – Marilyn Naessig Award. The award is in appreciation for extraordinary services to the Auxiliary of Pocono Medical Center. This award could be considered a Very Important Person recognition and is to be given to an active member who has serves as president, an officer, committee chairperson, or other active role whom has willingly assumed positions where there is or was a need for service.

In addition, Paul and Judy Schuchman were honored as recipients of The Auxilian of the Year Award. It is one award (unless given to a husband and wife) that is recommended by the President of The Auxiliary and the Executive Board. It is given at the end of the term to an Auxiliary volunteer meant to recognize him or her whom quietly exemplifies knowledge of the functions of the Auxiliary and the hospital.

The dedication and commitment of The Auxiliary’s pledge helps Pocono Medical Center to continue to provide its community with specialized and certified physicians, expert medical staff, and advanced technologies that amount to excellent care, close to home. This year’s funds for The Auxiliary have been chosen to benefit the Women’s and Children’s Endowment Fund.
