Nikles Earns Graduate Master Remodeler Certification

Milford, PA – Ed Nikles Jr., of Ed Nikles Custom Builder, Inc. has been named one of the remodeling industry’s top professionals by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Recently earning the Graduate Master Remodeler (GMR) education designation – the 1st homebuilder in Pennsylvania to do so, and 20th overall in the United States- he is now placed among a select group of remodelers nationwide.

NAHB Education, which encompasses the GMR, is sponsored locally by the Pike County Builders Association. “I am delighted to have met the requirements for this designation,” said Nikles. “The program only enhances our knowledge and expertise, and I believe it will allow us to provide a better service to our clients. I am grateful to have been recognized by the NAHB.” Ed Nikles, Jr. has been a Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR) since 1993.

To earn the GMR designation, a remodeler must be an active Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR) for at least nine years, possess 15 years of remodeling experience, complete an intensive series of industry-specific education and training, provide letters of recommendation, submit proof of home improvement contractor registration (for PA), insurance and adhere to a strict code of ethics. GMR stands for dedication to excellence, experience and professionalism within the remodeling industry.

The GMR program represents a graduate master level of remodeling experience and educational excellence, which is expected to be continued throughout Nikles’ career. The program also requires all graduates to maintain their designation by completing 12 hours of continuing education every three years. “Our company highly values education,” said Ed Nikles, Jr. “Over the course of my 25-year career, I have taken over 30 continuing education courses through NAHB. Our belief is that, essentially, we have been schooled to do your home work.”
