Mount Pocono, PA – Plans are well under way for The Pocono Mountains Biggest Yard Sale, which will take place on Saturday, May 5, at the Pocono Mountains Municipal Airport in Mount Pocono. The event will benefit the United Way of Monroe County.
All types of vendors and crafters will be selling a wide variety of merchandise. Items will include household wares, dishes, lamps, antiques, embroidery, jewelry, children’s toys, clothes, purses, candles, books, puzzles, tools, DVDs, cookware and collectibles.
Spaces are only $15 ($20 after May 2). An application form can be downloaded at www.unitedwaymonroe.org.
The yard sale runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., with setup from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Refreshments will include coffee and baked goods by Bill’s ShopRite in Mount Pocono, barbecue food by Smokin’ Vittles in Tobyhanna, and candy apples made by the Candy Cottage in Scotrun. There will be music by Captain Bob…A Fantastic Voyage DJ Service and children’s activities such as face painting by Barbara Bush of East Stroudsburg.
Community groups such as Pocono Guiding Pups, Pocono Greyhound Adoption, Family Promise and RSVP will be participating and providing information. The United Way will have a table with information about its funded programs, volunteering, and special events.

The event will be held rain or shine at the airport authority’s large property off Route 611. A $2 parking donation by attendees will benefit the United Way.
