This Saturday, June 5, the Sherman Theater presents the second annual Pocono Raceway Festival on Main Street in downtown Stroudsburg. Taking place the day before the Gillette Pro Glide 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at the Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, this free, all-day long music and racing celebration and festival will combine show car displays, food vendors, games for all ages, and musical performances on three stages. Headlining the musical portion of the festival with a performance on the main stage will be southern rock legends Molly Hatchet. Rich Berkowitz, president/CEO of the Sherman Theater, says, “This festival is a great opportunity for racers, fans, and local residents to get acquainted with all that downtown Stroudsburg and the Pocono Mountains have to offer.” The Pocono Raceway Festival benefits the Sherman Theater, including all of the work that the organization accomplishes with local charities like the Rotary Club of the Stroudsburgs, Daffodil Express, and others. Local sponsors of the event include Schoch Harley Davidson, ESSA Bank & Trust, Pocono Medical Center, L.T. Verrastro, Rotary Club of the Stroudsburgs, Strauser Nature’s Helpers, Vitaminwater, the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau, Monroe County Commissioners, and the Jacob Stroud Corporation.
