Skytop Lodge Appoints Jeffrey Rudder as General Manager

Rudder boasts 20 years of marketing and sales experience at properties in the tri-state area

The board of directors of Skytop Lodge Corporation has announced the appointment of Jeffrey Rudder as general manager of the resort, effective Sept. 1. Most recently, Rudder has served as the resort’s director of sales and marketing.

Rudder joined Skytop Lodge in May 2014 and has been instrumental in promoting Skytop as a destination for leisure and corporate guests alike. He came to Skytop from the Omni Bedford Springs Resort & Spa where he was the director of sales and marketing. Prior to that, he served as director of sales at Oneida Nation Enterprises’ Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, N.Y. He spent a decade with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts in Hershey, Pa., first as director of Northeast corporate sales and moving up to director of sales for resort groups. He also held sales management positions with Meristar Hotel Corporation in Frazier, Pa., and at Boykin Hotel Corporation in Mt. Laurel, N.J. Rudder began his career with the American Golf Corporation in 1995.

A native of Medford, N.J., Rudder studied at the Academy of Culinary Arts Hotel School in Mays Landing, N.J., and the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill.

Douglas Hustad, president and general manager of Skytop Lodge, has resigned his position to pursue a new opportunity in the hospitality industry. The board of directors thanks Hustad for his contributions to Skytop and wishes him and his family well in their new adventure.
