United Way 70th Anniversary Gala set for June 13

Tannersville, PA – Seventy years of “uniting people and improving lives” will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 13, during the United Way of Monroe County’s 70th Anniversary Gala. The black-tie optional event, including music and dancing, will be held at The Chateau Resort and Conference Center in Tannersville.

This festive occasion will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a strolling musician, butler-passed hors d’oeuvres, and a cash bar with a special anniversary cocktail. The dinner program will start at 7 p.m. and feature an elegant menu including petite filet mignon and Maryland-style crab cake. Live band entertainment and dancing will start at 9 p.m.

During the evening, there will be touching tributes, memories and some surprises. Photos and information from United Way’s work in the local community during the last seven decades will be shared and displayed.

“This event is all about celebrating 70 years of helping those in need and making a positive difference in people’s lives,” said Executive Director Mathilda Sheptak. “We will be recognizing partner agencies that have been with us since 1942 and thanking many people, such as longtime volunteers and contributors. We are looking forward to a wonderful and very memorable event,” she said.

A commemorative program booklet will be part of the gala and advertising opportunities are available. There are also sponsorships at the following levels:

  • Diamond  – $1,000:  One table (10 seats) at the dinner; full page ad in the program; highlighted in all advertising and promotions
  • Sapphire  – $600:  Six (6) seats at the dinner; half page ad in the program; highlighted in all advertising and promotions
  • Ruby Level – $275:  Two (2) seats at the dinner; quarter page ad; highlighted in all advertising and promotions
