The Pocono Medical Center is very pleased to announce the naming of Marie Winter, Health Unit Coordinator, SPU, of Jackson Township as the Dedicated Employee of the Month for September, 2016. Marie was nominated by her co-worker. Below is an excerpt of the nomination:
“On July 11, 2016 a woman arrived for a bronchoscopy. She started talking to Marie about not having a ride home as she did not know she needed a driver. The patient was going to reschedule when Marie noticed they live on the same street. They did not know each other however knew the same neighbors. Marie offered to come back after her shift and drive the lady home. The patient would leave her car here which created an issue of picking it up the next day. While I was preparing the patient Marie came to give us her phone number and informed the patient that she would return at 5:45pm with her grandson so the patient’s car could be brought home. This woman was so thankful, she was tearful and so was I. This was an above and beyond act of kindness. Marie shows this attitude EVERY day I work with her.”
