(SCRANTON, PA) – TecBridge, a regional organization that collaboratively strives to create and embrace entrepreneurial opportunities and is excited to announce the 2016 Business Plan Competition (BPC).   Entrepreneurs of all ages and levels are encouraged to enter the annual competition, which will award more than $100,000 and in-kind services to businesses looking to turn their business idea into a reality within the NEPA region.

For more than a decade, the BPC has showcased the work of more than 500 students and 100 early stage entrepreneurs. Both collegiate and non-collegiate entrepreneurs are eligible to participate in the BPC, which gives participants the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in planning, company formation, and other entrepreneurial skill sets.

The benefits of the BPC are countless, ranging from job creation that continues to benefit the region to the enrichment of the greater business community.

COMPETITION DETAILS

Registration for the BPC opens on February 1, 2016 and closes on March 17th.  All submissions are due April 1, 2016. Each team that enters the BPC will be judged on the criteria of their pitch deck, executive summary, competitive analysis, and ProForma financials. Participants will also be able to take advantage of interactive help sessions, which will be scheduled for February 24 and March 22, 2016.

The Awards Dinner is taking place on April 28th, which includes the business community, drawing hundreds of professionals from our region, including entrepreneurs, college presidents, business leaders, and economic development partners.  A showcase of all entrants in an expo-style fair as part of the dinner was a successful addition to recent years and offers an opportunity for the community to explore new business ideas and provide additional support to BPC participants. Like last year, there will also be a crowd-funding component of the Awards Dinner that will allow for attendees to vote on a Wild Card Winner.

More information is available at www.nepbpc.com  or on Facebook/nepabpc and questions should be directed to info@tecbridgepa.org.
