40th Anniversary Rededication of Miners’ Monument/Ethnic Festival


Lansford Alive Events Committee Re-dedication of the Miners’ Monument and Panther Valley Ethnic Festival will be held Saturday, July 9th at Kennedy Park, in Lansford.  The time will be from 11:30 am to 7:00 pm.

The dedication of the monument will start at 11:30.   Music groups for that day will include:  Jay Smarr,

2 for 1, featuring Jim and Joanne Dormer and Rockin’ Horse, featuring Rodney Clouser.

Crystal View Carriage Service with horse and wagon rides, craft and food vendors will also be in attendance.  Festival will be held rain or shine.

If anyone would like to participate as vendors, please see Lansford Alive’s website at www.lansfordalive.org to download an application. Community Bank, 12 W Ridge St, Lansford will have applications available as well. We encourage civic groups, fire departments and churches to participate.

Our committee is trying to revitalize Kennedy Park and if you would like to donate please make checks payable to Lansford Alive Events Committee, 36 Coal St. Lansford.  If you donate, your name will be mentioned at the dedication.

Also, we are selling engraved bricks for the walkway leading to the Miners’ Monument.  Cost of the bricks will be $75 (6”x9”).  The applications for ordering will be available at Community Bank, 12 W. Ridge St. Lansford or Lansford Alive’s website.
