Keystone Sanitary Landfill Invites Community to Open House

Public encouraged to visit facility, take tours, participate in

informative presentations.

 

[Dunmore, PA] – The Keystone Sanitary Landfill has announced an open house for the public to learn how the facility operates on Tuesday, June 9th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The facility is located at 249 Dunham Drive in Dunmore. This first- of-its-kind event is free of charge and includes a variety of free activities from continuous landfill bus tours to giveaways and raffles. Complimentary food and refreshments will be served throughout the event.

The facility tours will enable area residents to see much of the 714 acres and

 

seven miles of internal roads within the perimeter of the state-of-the-art facility, including the high-tech computerized scale system, advanced radioactive detection system, the electrical generation plant and wastewater treatment facility as well as the Keystone Quarry Materials Processing Facility.

Visitors will view an informational video and speak directly with landfill

 

representatives and consultants about the operations of the facilities. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Since 1991, the Keystone Sanitary Landfill has efficiently served area communities while remaining dedicated to environmentally safe and ecologically sound practices in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
