Gene’s very first radio single, the self-penned “If It’s That Easy” was released in 1962 so the entertainer is celebrating his 50 Years in the music business, a “Golden Anniversary” in 2012. Although the song didn’t make any radio charts, it did start the career of the man now known as “The Singer’s Singer.” Gene Watson’s tally of 75 charted titles, 23 top-10 hits and 6 number-one records has led to membership in the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame. Radio listeners are still transfixed whenever classics like “Farewell Party,” “Fourteen Carat Mind” or “Love in the Hot Afternoon” are played. Twitty Fever
In the year 1969, Dave Rehrig, who was performing with his family in a group called “The Rehrig Family”, wanted to learn to sing the song “Proud Mary” by “Credence Clear Water Revival”. Dave’s twin brother Dennis gave him an album of Conway Twitty’s music and told him to listen to Conway singing the song. Well, Dave listened to the album over and over again, day and night, and decided he wanted to sing like Conway.
In 1995, “Twitty Fever Band” had a debut and since then, Dave has devoted all of his efforts to singing. Dave states that he owes all his fame to Conway; who will always be his idol. Since the restart of the Twitty Fever Band, they have been breaking records at almost all of their performances. The Twitty Fever Band has become known to be fresh, new, exciting, different, and enjoyable to watch, listen and dance to.
