Pocono Business Journal Revived By Local Media Firm

The five-year old, award-winning Pocono Business Journal may have folded in February, but will rise again, as it has just been purchased by East Stroudsburg-based Jason Trump of media firm Trump Media, Inc. The publication and its assets were purchased from former publisher and owner Marynell Strunk. It will be available as an online entity, not in print form, says Trump, at the same Web site address as before, www.pbjonline.com as well as www.poconobusinessjournal.com.

This next-gen PBJ will be an enhanced product, he says: “It will now serve as a ‘daily business news delivery system’ as we have the ability to update the Web site 24/7 as news occurs. We have a fantastic lineup of columnists, writers, photographers and other contributors already working on the initial launch.” Trump plans to tap into the ‘dire need’ for business news in the Pocono community since PBJ folded. He says the publication will continue to provide balanced, accurate and relevant content, something that business owners, professionals and Pocono residents had been able to count on in the past. In addition, PBJ will offer support for local businesses by providing expert advice and encouragement on topics relating to targeted marketing, social media and brand communication for their business success, thanks to Trump’s specialization in Emotional Brand Communication.

Trump, whose firm also handles online marketing, pay-per-click consulting and Web site design, is well seasoned in niche marketing via targeted outlets such as social media and will utilize it to drive viewers to the PBJ site. Other reasons for news-hungry professionals to visit PBJ will be its strong level of interactivity, including surveys, business-owner feedback, speedy local commentary on breaking news, and much more. He will be assisted by PBJ’s former editor, Debbie Burke, who is now PBJ’s Online Editor.
