Stroudsburg, PA – The 2011 Daffodil Days Campaign Kick-Off is being hosted by ESSA, Palmer Street, Stroudsburg on Thursday, January 13th, 2010 from 5:30-7:30 pm.

Although spring is a distant thought, the 2011 Daffodil Days Campaign is underway! The first visible symbol of the season, the daffodil, will be in evidence before you know it.  Due to the efforts of the American Cancer Society, the daffodil is the symbol of a new beginning and has become synonymous with eternal hope.   Daffodil Days 2010 was a tremendous success raising over $85,000 for Monroe County.

Dollars raised for the Monroe County Unit of the American Cancer Society provide services for local cancer patients including reimbursement for medication and transportation to and from treatment centers.  Through continued donations, our local schools will receive educational materials on tobacco; women with breast cancer will have opportunities for one-on-one support; men with prostate cancer will have up-to-date medical treatment; and children with cancer will continue to have access to “Camp Can Do.” Needless to say, this is important work.

Daffodils are available the 3rd week of March, 2011 throughout the county.  Presales are also available by calling the Monroe County ACS office at 570.562.9749
