A Day in the Park hosted by Middle Smithfield Township and Middle Smithfield Parks and Recreation Committee

Middle Smithfield Township, PA, September 12, 2013:  Middle Smithfield Township, together with their Parks and Recreation Committee, will host A Day in the Park, a family-oriented community event designed to build community relationships and stimulate local business. A Day in the Park will take place on Saturday, September 21 from 12-4pmat Resica Park.

The rain date will be Sunday, September 22, from 12-4pm.

A Day in the Park promises to be a compelling community-building event in which local service organizations, vendors, and residents alike can join together to share in the festivities that help build strong and lasting community bonds, as well as a fun family day.

Some event highlights include:

  • ·         Entertainment! Magician Mark Mysterio and various musicians will perform.
  • ·         Games! Kids’ games by Pocono Family Services and MST’s Parks and Recreation.
  • ·         Food! From Boy Scouts’ funnel cakes to Parks and Recreation hamburgers and hot dogs!

The local fire and ambulance companies will also be featured at the event. If you’re a vendor

or a 501c3/non-profit/service organization and would like to host an exhibit, there is still time

to sign up!

Township Supervisor and Parks and Recreation Director Mike Dwyer looks forward to the event, saying “A Day in the Park is a great way to not only fundraise for parks projects, but get the word out about all the things our Parks and Rec committee is doing.” It will be a great opportunity for both residents and local organizations to support the community and encourage local business.  Anyone interested in enjoying the day or participating as a vendor should contact MiddleSmithfieldTownship@gmail.com

The Middle Smithfield Township Parks and Recreation Committee aims to improve the lives of the residents of Middle Smithfield Township by providing safe, welcoming parks and diverse recreation activities for people of all ages.
