Ehrhardt’s Waterfront Resort in Lake Wallenpaupack provides the perfect canvas for the exciting 1st Annual Art Extravaganza on Sunday, Aug. 29th. The tri-state area’s largest and most prestigious Art Show and Auction will be held from 12 Noon to 5 PM in conjunction with numerous other events during the 1st Annual Wally Lake Fest Weekend August 27-29th. Art Auction begins promptly at 1 PM.

Presented by Connections Magazine and Bold Gold Media Group, Art Extravaganza features 42 pieces of artwork to be auctioned off, 30 artists booths and 4 art galleries. Connections’ Art Coordinator, Lucille Norella, explains how the project began: “The Community Library of Lake and Salem Townships had an idea of having a small art show/auction with a few local artists at the library, and a member of the library recommended that they contact Deborah Bailey, Publisher of Connections Magazine and Owner of Bailey Design and Advertising. They met at Connections Magazine, and together with Deborah Bailey and her staff, Art Extravaganza was created. I am the CM ArtScene Coordinator for Connections Magazine and Deborah called me and got me on board to coordinate the artists and art donations for the event. This quickly developed into an extremely prestigious event put together by eight Wayne County business people, and its purpose is to raise money for children’s literacy and other programs, run by the Lake and Salem Community Library.”

The main focus of Art Extravaganza is the AUCTION itself, which features pieces by world-renown crystal Sculptor Christopher Ries, and nationally known Artist Curtis James of CJ Studios in NY, who also donated a piece by International Artist/ Sculptor Howard Jason, who had been commissioned by the late Michael Jackson, King of Pop, to do works for his Neverland Ranch. Howard Jason’s piece, “Papillon”, will be on display until August 28th at The Honesdale National Bank’s Main Branch lobby located at 733 Main Street in Honesdale, PA. The public can view “Papillon” Monday thru Thursday from 9 AM until 4 PM, Friday 8:30 AM until 7 PM, and Saturday 8:30 AM until Noon. The estimated retail value is $6,500.
