MetroAction Announces Upcoming Small Business Training Programs

September 2, 2010 – MetroAction recently announced its upcoming business training programs for start-up and expanding business owners throughout its nine county service area.

Business Basics Seminar – Carbondale: Thursday, September 23, 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM

MetroAction’s Business Basics seminar helps take the mystery out of developing a successful small business. This program reviews the steps needed to develop a successful business and valuable resources to help grow a business. Attendees learn how small business loans work, what documents and information are required and review the requirements to qualify for small business financing. The seminar will also explain about small business grants, what lenders look for and how to improve chances of qualifying for a small-business loan.  Business Basics is presented by MetroAction at the Greater Carbondale Chamber of Commerce, 27 N. Small Business Administration Meet the Lender Program – Pittston:  Thursday, September 23, 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

MetroAction has teamed up with the Small Business Administration to offer an informative discussion on small business financing opportunities in northeastern Pennsylvania.  The program will be held at Victoria Inn and Suites, Pittston on Thursday, September 23, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  The program is free.  But seating is limited.  To register, call (610) 382-3081.

Small Business Institute – Scranton:  Thursdays, September 30 – November 18, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

MetroAction’s Small Business Institute provides practical, hands-on skills needed to develop, manage and grow a successful business. From organization planning, to marketing, to understanding your financials, the Small Business Institute helps participants understand how all of the pieces of a business work together.  The eight-week program is presented by MetroAction at the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce, 222 Mulberry St., Scranton on Thursdays, September 30 through November 18, 9 a.m. to noon.  Seats fill quickly!  Cost is $149 per person and includes all course materials.
