Center for Developmental Disabilities Welcomes Ed Silverstone to Board of Director

Milford, PA – The Center for Developmental Disabilities (CDD) is pleased to welcome local businessman and long-time advocate Ed Silverstone to their Board of Directors.

Mr. Silverstone is a resident of Shohola, PA, where he lives with his wife Ellen. He is a Syracuse and University of Pennsylvania Law School graduate, beginning his law career at the Federal Trade Commission in 1967. In 1986, Mr. Silverstone began a career in management of manufacturing and business services, including positions as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Goltens Worldwide, the largest global ship repair company; the President of Fenway Holdings, a diversified manufacturing company, and Group Vice President of Hanson Industries. Mr. Silverstone is a United States veteran after serving in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Naval Reserve Judge Advocate General Corps for ten years. He has helped the community by serving on the Delaware Valley School Board, and on the Board of the Association for the Help of Retarded Children (AHRC) New York City Foundation (the largest AHRC chapter).

As a participating member of the CDD’s Board of Directors, Mr. Silverstone will aid CDD in its mission of providing early education and therapeutic services for children with developmental delays. As the only Department of Public Welfare-licensed early education center that provides Early Intervention services in Pike County, the CDD works diligently to provide services for children from birth through the kindergarten age, to maximize each child’s potential. The CDD is not only committed to providing programs and services that are developmentally appropriate and individualized for each child, but also strives to educate the community regarding the special needs of children in Pike County and their families.
