Stroudsburg, PA – Chris Schnaitman Construction, a Stroudsburg residential and commercial construction firm, has been recognized by the Pocono Builders Association with awards in four separate categories for excellence in construction. The awards were presented at a ceremony held at the Stroudsmoor Country Inn on October 19, 2011. Each of the four awards were for construction of a home overlooking a lake in Skytop, Pa. built by Chris Schnaitman Construction.
The award for “Residential Interior Design for Construction Greater Than 4500 sq ft” was for the Adirondack true timber frame and natural stone home. It featured reclaimed, wide plank Douglas fir flooring and exacting millwork and cabinetry throughout the home, all in Douglas fir, that were selected to bring the lake environment inside the structure.
The category “Remodeling Bath for Construction over $15,000” was an award for a master bathroom that incorporated a full glass and tiled shower enclosure with an expansive lake view above a whirlpool. The tile materials were selected to foster a connection with nature, creating a haven where the owners could be soothed by nature as they start and end their day.
The “Specialty Construction for Auxiliary Building” award was for an outdoor all weather living area which also included true timber frame construction with mortise and tenon joinery. Expanding on the Adirondack elements used though out the home, large windows and screening provided openness to the lake environment.
The fourth award for “Specialty Construction for Decks” included a timber framed pergola repeating the mortise and tenon construction. The custom designed deck has a large radius stairs that descends to a flagstone patio area creating a smooth transition to the outdoors.
“We’re gratified to have been recognized by our industry for these prestigious awards in so many categories. But it’s the satisfaction of a happy customer, and a job we can be proud of, that is the ultimate reward” comments owner, Chris Schnaitman. He stated that “excellence in workmanship is not accidental, but the result of the dedicated employees, tradesmen and associates”.
