Eastburg Community Alliance (ECA) Now Accepting Registrants for OctoberFest Celebration


East Stroudsburg, PA – The Eastburg Community Alliance’s 2010 OctoberFest will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2010 from 11am-dark in both Miller Park and along Crystal Street in East Stroudsburg and will be co-sponsored by Stroud Region Open Space and Recreation.

The OctoberFest event committee is seeking local artists/ artisans, crafts persons as well as non-profit organizations and members of our farming community to join in this event and offer goods and/or activities that celebrate Autumn in the Poconos. Categories include, but are not limited to, seasonal produce, home canning, home-baked goods (pies, fudge, candy apples etc) arts, crafts, and needlework, ceramics, pottery and wood works, seasonal decorations and items. In addition, in light of current community action for the preservation of the East Stroudsburg Station (Dansbury Depot), we are also seeking vendors of train related goods and items that celebrate our local railroad history here in East Stroudsburg. The cost to register is $25.00 and $15.00 for non-profit organizations. Registration and fee is required for participation and must be submitted to EastBurg Community Alliance no later than Thursday October 21st.

Event planners are scheduling live music and entertainment, roaming magicians, a Crystal Street craft and vendor fair, sidewalk sales, face-painting, scarecrow building and pumpkin painting, children’s games, a window decorating contests and a Children’s Costume Parade and more in town! In Miller park, Stroud Region Open Space Committee will  host ‘pass the gourd’ rely races, push-that-bale race, ‘pumpkin head’ twirlers’, the opportunity to create apple cider with an antique cider press and more! For the best of Park and Downtown fun, October Fest in Eastburg will have numerous events and Fall activities for all ages.
