Eastburg Community Alliance announces Visual Merchandising Workshop

East Stroudsburg, PA – The ECA’s second Brown Bag Business Lunch will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 from noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Pocono Community Theatre, 85 S. Courtland Street in East Stroudsburg and will present a Visual Merchandising Workshop. Timed to capitalize on the Holiday shopping season, this workshop brings guest speaker Julie Fitzpatrick, of the Pennsylvania Downtown Center, to Eastburg to help give our downtown businesses a competitive edge. Here you will be able to engage in interactive discussions with other business owners on everything from window display design choices to advanced marketing techniques as well as some tricks of the trade that big name brands capitalize on.

Workshop Participants will: learn how to better attract new costumers and clients to downtown shops and businesses, discover what color schemes and merchandise displays stop downtown pedestrians in their tracks, attract target demographics, turn ‘browsers’ into ‘buyers’, gain insight on how to better advertise products or services and discover why it pays to shop our small local businesses.

“While Shopping Mall parking lots are filled to capacity and big box and chain stores consistently capitalize on our community’s dollars each Holiday, local shoppers often surpass our traditional downtown shops. We at the ECA encourage local shopping and support of the local community and economy and for this, the ECA is proud to bring this valuable program to Eastburg to help our local downtown businesses ring in the season and enhance our community by encouraging local job creation and increasing the exchange local dollars, goods, old-fashioned service and smiles.” –Cheryl Hayne, ECA Downtown Manager.
