WAYNE & PIKE COUNTIES, PA: Participants of the Leadership Northern Poconos Class of 2016 will be volunteering with a local non-profit organization to assist with a project or program. The Chamber of the Northern Poconos is pleased to announce that Leadership Northern Poconos is accepting applications for the Class of 2016 until September 10th.
The purpose of Leadership Northern Poconos is to educate a group of potential leaders residing in and/or employed in Wayne or Pike Counties. As a result of the program, the Northern Poconos will benefit from an informed group of individuals who are capable of providing leadership to the community and the many voluntary organizations that operate within it. These individuals will have a better understanding of the community’s strengths and weaknesses. Faculty will cover the following topics: Arts & Culture, Community & Human Services, Education, Economic Development, Environment & Recreation, Law Enforcement & the Criminal Justice System, Leadership, Healthcare, Local & County Government, and an Overview of Wayne and Pike Counties.
The Leadership Northern Poconos program begins its first class on September 16, 2015, and will continue for ten months finishing up in July, 2016. Classes will meet the third Wednesday of each month at various locations throughout Wayne and Pike Counties. Participants will be expected to attend a minimum of eight sessions to be considered graduates.
The cost of enrollment is $495, which includes program materials, lunches and graduation. Scholarships are available to those who qualify.
