Education Update: A Demand for Biomanufacturing Professionals

0

Responding to input from several regional employers for candidates specialized in Asceptic Processing and Automation Control in Biomanufacturing, NCC’s PETRI (Pipeline for Education, Training, Resources and Innovation) department is offering two information sessions on April 29 (see our Calendar of Events for details) on a short-term diploma in these areas. Asceptics refers to the study and management of “clean rooms” commonly found in biomanufacturing facilities, a field that currently has a demand for trained technicians and operators. The second short-term diploma offered by PETRI is in Automation Control in Biomanufacturing. Such individuals will learn about process automation diagrams, instrumentation, control and measurement, and other topics. Some of the businesses that expressed interest in hiring interns or employees in these specialty areas include sanofi pasteur, Orasure, Merck, and Life Sciences Greenhouse of Central Pennsylvania. There will be two information sessions on April 29 on these diplomas. Interested employers can call Cindy Adams at (610) 332-6095 for more information.
