ESU Foundation Appoints New President and CEO

East Stroudsburg, PA – The East Stroudsburg University Foundation has appointed Frank Falso as its President and CEO effective August 20, 2010. The former VP for University Advancement at East Stroudsburg University, Falso will lead the Foundation at a time of its reorganization with a renewed commitment to its mission.

“While this transition required by PASSHE for their universities and affiliates is intensely challenging in the short term, it provides a wonderful opportunity for the Foundation to re-energize its mission in support of the University in a much more efficient, productive and entrepreneurial fashion,” says Falso. “I’m committed to helping the Foundation and our new staff build a body of work that will focus on the best practices around planning and implementation of fundraising programs that can cause success. I’ve had incredible support from the President of the University, Chairman of the Foundation Board, Council of Trustees, remaining members of the Foundation Board, and the Alumni Association Board. With these significant entities as partners, our success is almost ensured.”

Advancement offices, historically associated with higher education foundations in their fundraising capacities, are transitioning to an independent model in Pennsylvania. The

Foundation takes with it the Alumni Engagement and Development functions. A newly-hired staff of 20 including professionals and administrative support personnel are devoted to achieving three interrelated goals: to enhance alumni engagement; to develop and plan capital and annual fundraising; and to increase private contributions for support of the University’s operations.

In the coming months, the Foundation will launch a new brand identity; a new logo, tagline, and Web site; a social media presence; and more.

The ESU Foundation is a private non-profit organization dedicated to securing and stewarding private gifts and grants that benefit East Stroudsburg University. Each year, thousands of generous benefactors make gifts to show their support for East Stroudsburg University.
