ESU Foundation Appoints New VP for Development

East Stroudsburg, PA – The East Stroudsburg University Foundation has appointed Betty Russo as its Vice President for Development effective August 20, 2010. The former Assistant VP for Development at East Stroudsburg University, Russo will now be the chief development and operating officer overseeing alumni engagement, fundraising, and communication programs at the Foundation.

Russo has an extensive background in development and advancement. Most recently, she served as the senior development officer at Albright College in Reading, PA, and assisted with the overall administration and management of the college’s advancement division. Areas of expertise included major gifts and planned giving programs, stewardship, the annual fund, and special events. At Albright she had also been campaign manager, assisting with the revision of the strategic plan and directing the strategies for the college’s comprehensive campaign. She is a member of the Council for Advancement of Secondary Education, the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Russo oversees a newly-hired staff of 20 at the ESU Foundation who are devoted to enhancing alumni engagement, developing and planning capital and annual fundraising, and increasing private contributions for support of the University’s operations.

The mission of the ESU Foundation is to foster and promote the growth, progress and general welfare of East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, and to solicit, receive and administer, and make gifts and donations for such purposes.
