Wilkes-Barre, PA – Finding individual health insurance coverage in the Poconos just got a little easier.
Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania (BCNEPA) now offers walk-in service for individuals to shop for affordable coverage options at its new retail store – The Blue Cross Store of Northeastern Pennsylvania – located in the Bartonsville Plaza on Route 611 in Stroudsburg. The new store is BCNEPA’s first walk-in retail location in its 13-county service area covering northeastern and north central Pennsylvania.
The Blue Cross Store of Northeastern Pennsylvania provides individual consumers with a convenient and unique way to shop for health insurance coverage options. When consumers enter the store, they have the option to speak with a representative who can help them choose the most appropriate individual coverage option, or they may find information on their own at one of the store’s interactive kiosks.
The store hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., or by appointment with a BCNEPA representative.
“Consumers have become more savvy about their health care and how they spend their health care dollars,” said Paul Holdren, Senior Vice President and Chief Sales and Marketing Officer for BCNEPA. “I believe that trend will accelerate as federal health care reform and health insurance exchanges are fully implemented.”
On January 1, 2014, the federal health care reform law calls for health insurance exchanges to be operational for individual consumers to shop for and compare policies. The exchanges will offer consumers, who may be uninsured today, easier access to affordable coverage options.
Until then, The Blue Cross Store of Northeastern Pennsylvania is helping meet the demand of consumers who are looking for affordable individual coverage, along with established online and telephone resources.
