Honesdale, PA – Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers is pleased to announce the opening November 30th of the Carbondale Pediatric Center in the Carbondale Professional Center, just across the street from Carbondale High School and Carbondale Area Elementary School. Alexander Pinsky, MD, a board-certified pediatrician with more than two decades of experience, is accepting new patients up to age 21.
“I am really looking forward to practicing in Carbondale,” said Dr. Pinsky, “the people in the area are very friendly, and the location is ideal.”
The Carbondale Pediatric Center will offer both preventive and diagnostic care. Dr. Pinsky and his staff will provide immunizations as well as advanced medical treatment for childhood illnesses. He is particularly interested in asthma management and gastrointestinal problems.
Dr. Pinsky acquired his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Russian State Medical University in Moscow. His subsequent education included internships and residency training in pediatrics and pediatric anesthesiology in both Russia and later at the Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey; Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City; and the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire.
While much of his career involved work as an attending physician at a hospital—the Guthrie Clinic, IRA Davenport Memorial Hospital in Bath, New York and North Central Bronx Hospital in New York City—Dr. Pinsky also enjoyed a solo practice in Norwalk, Connecticut in the 1990s.
The public is invited to meet Dr. Pinsky and tour the new facility at 150 Brooklyn Street on Wednesday, December 7th, from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. Free refreshments and giveaways will be available.

Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers accepts private and public insurances and offers a sliding fee service, based on income. The Centers also include primary care offices in Honesdale, Waymart, Lords Valley and Lake Como, as well as Women’s Health Center in Honesdale, the Together for Health Dental Center that serves adults and children and the Behavioral Health Center.
