Marworth Treatment Center announces counseling staff changes

Waverly, PA – After eight years of dedicated service to patients as counseling director, James DeBello, MS, LPC, CAC, CCS, will retire from Marworth Treatment Center on Jan. 28, 2011. DeBello leaves a legacy of innovation, including the advancement of trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder management, relapse prevention tools and expanded family programs, among others.

Advancing to new counseling director is Dominic Vangarelli, MA, CAC, ICADC. Vangarelli has worked at Marworth for more than 17 years, most recently serving as clinical supervisor. He specializes in dual diagnosis treatment planning and behavior management. Vangarelli will manage more than 50 employees and ensure patients and their families receive high quality treatment and care.

Vangarelli holds a master’s degree in clinical psychology from the University of Hartford, Conn., as well as a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Scranton.

Michele Davis, MS, CACD, LPC, will be promoted to Vangarelli’s position of clinical supervisor. Davis has been part of the Marworth counseling team for more than 16 years and specializes in treating healthcare professionals. She also developed a special education/support program for patients with a co-existing eating disorder. In her new role, Davis will supervise a staff of eight clinicians who work with recovering healthcare professional and the women’s program.

Davis holds a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from the University of Scranton, as well as a bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation services education from Penn State University.
