“The Emergency Department (ED) is the front door to our hospital,” said James Pettinato, director of Patient Care Services, “and we are pleased to have Dr. Fine at the helm. We are always looking at ways to enhance services, and he will join several other new providers who will help us provide the best, most efficient and compassionate care.”
The new medical director expects the community will see changes fairly soon. “With the other new physicians and mid-level providers, such as nurses and physician assistants, hired in addition to myself, I anticipate rapidly increasing the level of expertise in the Emergency Department,” explained Dr. Fine, “and bringing new technical innovations to the hospital which will help bring the most up-to-date care to the region.”
Dr. Fine, who worked most recently at Wilkes Barre General Hospital as the Chairman and Medical Director of the Emergency Department, graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and began his medical education at the Universite Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium.
