Shawnee on Delaware, PA – The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort is breaking the mold in the heart of the Pocono Mountains with the unveiling of its most recent offering – The Innovation Center at Shawnee.
The Innovation Center at Shawnee is not focused on advanced technology; it is a state of mind that reflects the Shawnee Inn’s deep rooted tradition of innovation and reinvention. It is this mindset of innovation and creation that we hope groups meeting here will embrace. Shawnee’s greatest asset is its ability to inspire creative thought. The corporate meeting industry has developed a stigma of fluorescent lighting and overused business jargon. The Innovation Center at Shawnee is anything but conventional.
Everything from stress management training on a golf island in the middle of the Delaware River to ideation on the edge of the Great Shawna Island Farm and Apiary is possible through The Innovation Center at Shawnee. Shawnee has literally torn down the walls of the conventional meeting in its journey to develop a culture of corporate creativity.
“As we turn 100, in searching for why we survived the test of time, we found that our past and present owners had really innovative ideas that kept Shawnee profitable,” said Rob Howell, General Manager of The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort. “As we move forward towards our next 100 years, offering our tradition of innovation to our corporate partners is a valuable asset.”
In developing our vision for the future, we reached out to strategic partner, mES (mEnterprise Solutions, LLC.) mES has assisted us in developing the overall concept in addition to conducting a marketing survey to gauge the interest of our existing customers in an Innovation Center located at Shawnee Inn. mES will be our partner in providing practical innovation workshops as well as their other services in facilitation, change management, leadership and organizational culture.
The Shawnee Inn has been leading the Pocono Mountain’s race of innovation for the last century. C.C. Worthington, Shawnee’s proprietor, was a famous engineer and inventor. He developed the first gang lawnmower for golf courses, and it is rumored that he was the inspiration for the PGA. Fred Waring, Shawnee’s second owner reinvented the Pocono Mountains by making Shawnee the Mecca of the entertainment world. Most recently, Shawnee has been the leader in the hospitality industry through its environmental practices which include the cultivation of The Great Shawna Island Farm and the establishment of the nation’s first resort brewery.
Shawnee is proud of its history of innovation and is excited to offer its experience and creative environment as a muse for its corporate meeting partners.
