East Stroudsburg, PA – Pocono Health System has welcomed a dermatologist to its family of healthcare providers. Clemens Esche, MD completed his residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
“The arrival of Dr. Esche brings to our community a leader in general dermatology and skin cancer diagnosis and treatment,” said Kathleen E. Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States and according to the CDC, one American dies of melanoma almost every hour. Preventative measures are essential and they include the following recommendations from the CDC:
- Do Not Burn
- Avoid Sun Tanning and Tanning Beds
- Use Sunscreen
- Cover Up
- Seek Shade
- Watch for the UV Index
- Have yearly skin examinations performed
Dr. Esche received his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Cologne School of Medicine in Germany and completed his residency in Dermatology at the Humboldt-University in Berlin, Germany, and Heinrich-Heine University in Dusseldorf, Germany. He has served in numerous professorships at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute, Mayo Clinic, and the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions. He also previously served as a dermatologist at clinics in Kentucky and at Appalachian Regional Healthcare, which is a not-for-profit health system serving 350,000 residents across Eastern Kentucky and Southern West Virginia.
He has also been recognized for his dermatology and melanoma research and published in various original research reports, case reports, reviews, abstracts, and oral presentations.
