Wayne County Chamber – The Wayne County Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that Leadership Wayne has graduated the Class of 2011.  Graduating were 19 of Wayne County’s future leaders.

The class met for a full day each month, for ten months.  Topics covered were Leadership, Education, Healthcare, Arts & Culture, Overview of Wayne County, Economic Development, Environment & Recreation, Culture & Community, Human Services and County & Local Government.

The purpose of Leadership Wayne is to educate a group of potential young leaders residing and/or employed in Wayne County about all aspects of the community. Their education will allow them to gain a better, more in-depth knowledge of the community and thereby become better prepared to be our future leaders.

As a result of Leadership Wayne, the area will have access to a well-educated group of individuals that is capable of providing leadership to the community and the many voluntary organizations that operate within it. These individuals have a better understanding of the community’s strengths and weaknesses. Every graduating Leadership class is to pick a project that will benefit the community.  This year the graduates have decided to preserve the Civil War Monument in Honesdale’s Central Park. The group plans to raise $40,000 to preserve the statue, base and fence.  If you would like to make a donation, please make checks payable to WCCC – Leadership Wayne and mail to Wayne County Chamber of Commerce, Attn: Leadership Wayne, 32 Commercial Street, Honesdale, PA 18431.

The class is open to anyone who works or lives in Wayne County.  If you are an employer, employee or interested individual who feels they will benefit from enhanced leadership skills, applications are now available.  Please contact us today at (570) 253-1960 or email membership@waynecountycc.com.
