Legislators to Hold Senior Citizens’ Expo for Pike County


Milford, PA – On Thursday, Sept. 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Rep. Mike Peifer (R-Monroe/Pike/Wayne) and Rep. Rosemary M. Brown (R-Monroe/Pike) will hold a Senior Expo at the Dingman Township Volunteer Fire Department located at 680 Log Tavern Road in Dingmans Ferry, right off Route 739.

“Senior citizens age 60 and older are invited to come to this one-stop shop to learn more about services, activities and information available to them in our area,” said Peifer.

Any Senior Expo guest who will be using the Pike County Transportation system to get to the expo can do so for free, but must call Pike County Transportation ahead of time. The numbers to call are: 570-296-3408 or toll free 1-866-681-4947.

Light refreshments will be offered at this free event that includes blood pressure screenings, hearing tests, pre-diabetes testing, memory testing and flu shots.  There will be a charge for flu shots, which should be covered by insurance, so those planning to attend should bring insurance information if interested in being vaccinated.

“I am looking forward to this Senior Expo to connect Pike County’s senior residents with the people and organizations that can make their lives easier,” said Brown.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs will have its Mobile Veterans Center on hand to assist veterans with counseling.
