Mobile Media is Theme of PMVB’s Annual Tourism Day at Mt. Airy Casino on May 12

The Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau presents “Mobile: the 7th Mass Media” as part of Annual Tourism Day celebration next Wednesday, May 12. The event, which begins at 10:45 a.m., will be held at Mt. Airy Casino Resort. It will feature guest speaker Chuck Sacco, vice president of sales and business development at Movitas.  Sacco will be discussing where mobile technologies sit in history of media platforms and will describe how hospitality, travel and tourism businesses can best use this latest generation of marketing tools to best reach the increasingly mobile consumer.

Immediately following, all attendees are invited to attend the Pocono Mountains Tourism Achievement Awards Luncheon. Employees in the industry, along with member properties, will be recognized for strides in guest service, community service and environmental awareness.  Individual awards categories include Brand Hero Award, Lifetime Achievement Award and Tourism Employee of the Year Award.  Property categories include the Community Service Award, the Green Award and the Brand Champion Award.

According to Carl Wilgus, president/CEO for the PMVB, “Tourism Day serves as a great networking event for the tourism industry in the Pocono Mountains and as an opportunity to educate themselves on the most recent trends.”

Fees for Pocono Mountains Tourism Day are $40 for the first person and $35 for each additional person from the same PMVB member property.  Non-PMVB member fees are $50 for the first person and $45 for each additional person from the same property.  Registration includes entrance to the mobile marketing presentations, coffee break, Pocono Mountains Tourism Achievement Awards Luncheon, conference handouts, valet parking, scheduled casino tours and more.  Deadline for registration is Wednesday, May 5, 2010.  Registrations received on or after May 6th or walk-in registration will be subject to slightly higher fees.
