East Stroudsburg, PA – The Monroe Lady Golfers will donate all proceeds from their annual tournament to the Woman to Woman program designed by Hughes Cancer Center to benefit women in Monroe County. The program is intended to address needs of women undergoing cancer treatment and the physical distress that a woman experiences as she struggles through chemotherapy and radiation treatments. The plan has been set up to aid any woman in financial need whose need does not always fit within other program guidelines. This tournament is the sole source of funding for this program.
The thirteenth annual golf tournament will be held at Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort on Friday, July 29, 2011.
Registration begins at 12:30 PM, tee off time is 1:30 PM. The donation is $97.00 and includes a box lunch, dinner, prizes, good fun and the satisfaction of feeling great about contributing to a worthy cause helping women in our own community. The Monroe Lady Golfers was founded to foster golf among women and to raise money for charitable organizations. The league has donated over $64,100 to charities in Monroe County in ten years, with $60,600 dedicated to the Woman to Woman program. The league plays at Shawnee on Wednesday evenings and is open to women golfers of all abilities.
