AFP, Pocono Mountains Chapter of AFP Announces New Leadership

Monroe County, PA – The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP)/Pocono Mountains Chapter has announced its new President, Jennifer Grube, during the first board meeting of the year. Grube currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer & Executive Director of Women’s Resources of Monroe County.  She brings over twenty years of experience in non-profit fundraising and executive leadership and has worked on program and fund development for youth and families in need in the States of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. “I am thrilled to partner with you on this journey,” Grube shared with the AFPPocono Mountains Chapter membership, board and friends.

The chapter, she said, will focus on building partnerships, educating membership, involving local and regional legislators and identifying donors within and outside of the community “to expand our market share and leverage our resources.”

Past AFP Pocono Mountains President Angela Beers said, “I am excited about the new leadership and the direction we are heading in.” Beers is the director of corporate and foundation relations at East Stroudsburg University Foundation.

The AFP Pocono Mountains Chapter will expand the role of several committees including membership, programs, and public relations/communications, and continue to grow its reach through special events such as Annual National Philanthropy Day. In response to a membership survey conducted by Maryanne Heeter, AFP founding mother, the Chapter expects to offer a variety of educational opportunities for both members and non-members covering topics including donor relations and stewardship, online fundraising via social media, grant writing, capitol campaigns, roundtable sharing, youth engagement, and endowed and planned giving.
