Tannersville, PA – The Blue Ribbon Foundation of Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania (BCNEPA) is committed to supporting nonprofit agencies that respond to the needs of its neighbors throughout the region. The Foundation’s Board of Directors recently authorized its 2011/12 contribution of nearly $122,000 to be shared by 14 United Ways across BCNEPA’s 13-county service area.
As part of that contribution, the United Way of Monroe County received $12,303 targeted specifically to support health-related programs for Monroe County residents.
“We are pleased to partner with the United Way of Monroe County to help improve lives and change the community conditions that affect our region’s most vulnerable residents,” said Cynthia A. Yevich, executive director of The Blue Ribbon Foundation.
“The Blue Ribbon Foundation is one of our Pacesetter companies because they recognize the need in Monroe County, and have stepped up to contribute early in our campaign. We couldn’t be more thankful for their continued support,” said 2011 Campaign Co-Chair George Roberts. “Many people in need will benefit from these funds thanks to the generosity of The Blue Ribbon Foundation,” commented Co-Chair Connie Roberts.
The donation was made at a recent United Way campaign meeting held at Northampton Community College in Tannersville. This year’s campaign goal is $1.2 million.
The Blue Ribbon Foundation and other Pacesetter companies/individuals will be recognized during an afternoon presentation at StroudFest in Stroudsburg on Sept. 3.
