Delaware Water Gap, PA – The fourth annual Black and White Gala will be held on Friday, May 20, at Skytop Lodge, Skytop, PA. Proceeds from the event will support the work of Women’s Resources of Monroe County (WRMC), which is dedicated to ending domestic violence and sexual assault.
According to gala co-chairs Sharon Sinkevich and Jennifer Olson, the event will feature a cocktail reception with butler-passed hors d’oeurves and a cash bar, a duet dinner of salmon and beef tenderloin, dancing with DJ Gary Smith, and silent and live auctions with auctioneer Raymond Hartzell. George Roberts will be the emcee. “Our committee has been working tirelessly to create a really special event,” Olson said, “and some of the auction items are truly extraordinary.”
According to Sinkevich, a sampling of the premier items guests will have the opportunity to bid on includes a $1,000 shopping spree at The Apple Tree; a vacation at Rancho Rio Montana in Costa Rica valued at more than $15,000; a 3 day package for NASCAR’s Pennsylvania 500 that includes helicopter transportation to and from Mt. Pocono Airport, exclusive pit passes and a Sky Box; a South African safari; dinner and a show for 25 people at the Casino Theater in Mt. Pocono; and a one-day spa experience at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort that includes transportation via private plane.
“The financial needs of Women’s Resources of Monroe County are significant,” Sinkevich said. “This year alone, 33% of our total shelter requests are unmet and the number of people needing emergency shelter is mounting. Supporting this gala is a wonderful way to make sure we meet this important community need and end domestic and sexual violence in Monroe County.”
