STROUDSBURG — It’s supposed to be out from behind the computer.
But as the regulars of Pocono Tweetup — a local group of social media enthusiasts who meet face-to-face — start to file in, Jason Trump, one of the group’s originals, is still on his Wi-Fi-powered laptop.
“Only for right now,” he laughed. “When everyone gets here, I’ll shut it off.”
That’s the point of Pocono Tweetup — to make sure actual human interaction doesn’t go the way of the dinosaur in our increasingly online society.
Following a lead from similar groups, Pocono Tweetup started late last year and has been meeting semiweekly at Panera Bread on Route 611 in Stroud Township.
The group — anywhere from five to 10 people — gets together to drink coffee, talk about their lives and discuss any topic, as long as they’re actually talking face-to-face.
