Mobile sites for student loan servicing operations help on-the-go borrowers

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) announced today that borrowers whose loans are serviced by its student loan servicing operations, American Education Services and FedLoan Servicing, can now make payments directly from their web-enabled cell phones, including smart phones.

“Today’s student loan borrowers are becoming increasingly sophisticated in their use of technology,” said Representative William Adolph, PHEAA Board Chairman. “Developing an online payment solution that can be easily accessed from a mobile device provides on-the-go borrowers with a new student loan management tool that can help them stay on track toward successful repayment.”

The new mobile websites have been optimized for web-enabled cell phones, providing both simple presentation and easy user interaction, giving borrowers a convenient and fast alternative to using PHEAA’s full-featured online services. Borrowers are also able to add a special icon to their phone for easy, one-click access during future visits.

“These new mobile sites make the repayment process more accessible for many student loan borrowers,” notes Senator Wayne Fontana, PHEAA Board Vice Chairman. “Anytime PHEAA can make it easier to manage student loan payments, we are helping borrowers avoid delinquency and default – which can ultimately save borrowers from a lifetime of credit issues, while safeguarding millions of federal tax dollars.”

Student loan borrowers can visit aesSuccess.org or MyFedLoan.org and check their account balance, the next payment amount and due date, and make a payment 24/7. When these sites are accessed by web-enabled cell phones, users will be automatically directed to versions of sites that are optimized for mobile devices.
