Pike County Bar Association hosts CLE


Milford, PA – Pike County Bar Association (PCBA) President Elizabeth Erickson Kameen, Esq., announced a special presentation Movie and Continuing Legal Education program to be held on  Monday, April 16, 2012,  8:30 am to 3:00 p.m. at the Hotel Fauchere in Milford, PA with 4 live presenters and a special guest, Matthew J. Creme Jr., Pennsylvania Bar Association President.

Founded in 1895, the Pennsylvania Bar Association strives to promote justice, professional excellence and respect for the law; improve public understanding of the legal system; facilitate access to legal services; and serve the 28,000 lawyers who are members of the association. Pennsylvania Bar President Matthew Creme has a true appreciation of the smaller bar associations and recently honored the Pike County Bar Association with three County Bar Recognition Awards for projects and programs undertaken by the local bar to improve the legal profession, justice system and community.

President Erickson Kameen stated that the PCBA is committed to providing ongoing legal education programs.  Attorneys are given the opportunity to receive 4 ½ hours of continuing legal education by attending this program with 4 live speakers including The Hon. Joseph F. Kameen, President Judge of Pike County;  Pike County District Attorney The Hon. Raymond Tonkin; D. Benjamin vanSteenburgh, III, Esq., Pike County Chief Public Defender; and The Hon. Michael Weinstein (former Pike Co. District Attorney).  Key issues at the seminar include criminal pre-trial preparation, trial preparation, pre-trial motions, capital murder trials, juror qualifications in capital murder cases and preparation for capital murder trial penalty phase.
