Pike County, PA – Pike County Light & Power, one of the Gold Sponsors at the Pike County Chamber of Commerce Community Expo & Car Show, will be holding a FREE Energy Efficiency Workshop at the Expo from 12 Noon to 1:00p.m. in the cafeteria.

In keeping with the Expo’s “Go Green” theme, the Customer Energy Services Department of Pike County Light & Power will have featured Guest Speaker Charmaine Cigliano who will provide low cost or no cost energy efficiency saving tips to help attendees lower their energy bills during her “Be Green and Save Some Green” program. The first 50 people to come to the workshop will get a FREE CFL (compact fluorescent light bulb). CFL’s use 75% less energy than incandescent bulbs and last seven times longer. Light refreshments will be served to workshop participants during program.

During the Energy Efficiency Workshop you will learn how you use energy and what simple low cost and no cost actions you and your family can take to help the environment and keep your “pocketbook” full and happy too.

Other activities going on in and around the expo will include meeting our Special Guest Lisa Alexander “The Queen of Green” and learn her living green ideas, over 60 vendors of various businesses and organizations from the surrounding area you can visit to gather valuable information, 50/50 cash raffle, other top raffles that include prizes of gas cards, overnight stay at your choice of Cove Haven facilities, and two chances to win dinner for two at Woodloch Pines.

You can also vote on your choice of your favorite classic antique car at the Car Show outside and while you are perusing around checking out the cars you can see our special auto guest – the KITT car from the 1980’s show Knight Rider, see the new Chevy Volt car from McGuire’s Chevy in Newton, NJ and a hybrid vehicle from Pike County Light & Power, sing and dance along with our DJ Rampy from Generation 2 Disc Jockies Connection, have the kids get their face painted, take a jump around the Bouncy House & be entertained by “Lucky the Hobo” and his balloon masterpieces. “Lucky” says, “it’s not all skill, it takes a touch of magic and a lotta love”. Food and refreshments will be available to purchase also.

The Community Expo & Car Show will be held on May 21st at the Delaware Valley School’s grade 9-10 cafeteria & gym. There is FREE admission to the public from 11:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. The area people and local consumers are encouraged to attend so come out with the entire family to this wonderful neighborhood event to collect valuable information and meet and see the many area businesses and organizations that make up this wonderful community we live and work in.
