Pink Ribbon Raffle Event to Help Celebrate National Cancer Survivors Month


Stroudsburg, PA –  In celebration of June being National Cancer Survivors Month, the Carole’ Ann F. Bowyer, the fund’s originator, and volunteers are hosting the Pink Ribbon Raffle awareness event at the Lounge in Bartonsville, on June 28.  Starting May 1 through June 28, 2013 raffle tickets can be purchased at various locations such as Beauty Works, East Stroudsburg, Frailey Insurance and Financial Services, Stroudsburg, and Strunk-Albert Engineering, Rt. 209, Marshalls Creek. Tickets can also be purchase by visiting the fund’s website,  Checks can be made payable to Pocono Health Foundation. 

Top prizes are an iPad Mini, a week’s stay in St. Augustine, Florida, a Kindle Fire, and a breast cancer ribbon accessory.  There will be other raffle prizes, entertainment plus a signature martini, “The Hope Explosion”, specifically made for the event.  The fun starts at 5:00 p.m. and is open to the public. 

All money raised going to the Hope for Strength Breast Cancer Fund. The purpose of the fund is to minimize the financial and emotional impact of breast cancer diagnoses and treatment.  The Hope for Strength Breast Cancer Fund will provide up to $500 to both male and female patients of the Dales and Frances Hughes Cancer Center for basic living expenses. The fund was established in 2011 after Bowyer’s daughter was diagnosed with breast cancer.  Although Bowyer’s daughter lives in Washington, DC, they decided to create Hope for Strength in the Pocono Mountains to help the patients in the area where Ms. Beers grew up and received an education.
