East Stroudsburg, PABecker’s Hospital Review named “100 Hospitals and Health Systems With Great Oncology Programs. They explained that “these hospitals are on the cutting edge of cancer treatment, prevention, and research, and the Becker’s Hospital Review editorial team selected them based on clinical accolades, quality care and contributions to the field of oncology.” Becker’s Hospital Review went on to explain that “each organization has demonstrated a focus on patient-centered cancer care and emphasis on continual innovation in treatments and services.”

“Our oncology team has demonstrated its commitment to providing high-quality care, treatment, and services,” said Kathleen E. Kuck, President and CEO of Pocono Health System/Pocono Medical Center. This national recognition acknowledges our mission to provide world-class care, close to home.” Pocono Medical Center is one of six hospitals from Pennsylvania being recognized.

The Dale and Frances Hughes Cancer Center already has a Three-Year Accreditation with Commendation from The Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons and received the Outstanding Achievement Award from them as a result of surveys performed during 2011. The Hughes Cancer Center is one of a select group of 106 currently accredited and newly accredited cancer programs across the United States. They were in fact at the time one of four cancer programs to be honored throughout Pennsylvania.
