Independent movie theater to host third annual fundraiser at Terraview at Stroudsmoor Country Inn to support independent and art programming at the local treasure.
East Stroudsburg, PA – Pocono Community Theater will host its third annual fundraiser on November 11, 2011 at 6 pm at Stroudsmoor Country Inn’s Terraview venue. The event is a nod to the movie theater’s film history and an interpretation of the Oscars.
The event will feature the music of Bob Dorough, the 3rd annual Searchlight Awards for those who have donated generously to the local community, a silent auction, and a runway show specifically designed for the theater called “Fashion in Film”. Looks culled from the top films shown at Pocono Community Theater since its inception in 2008 will be featured from frocks and suits donated to the “Give the Shirt off your Back for PCT” campaign at the theater.
“This is our third anniversary, so we had to go above and beyond to celebrate,” says Raymond “Skip” Scheetz, President of the Board of Directors. “One way to do that was to hold this fashion show. Every look has a personal meaning for the theater. You’re going to see the movies reinterpreted.”
The event will also feature dancing and entertainment by husband and wife duo KATO. Tickets are $75 per person and can be purchased in person at the theater’s Box Office or online at www.redcarpetinfo.org.
IMPORTANT: Everyone that attends will receive a “Goodie Bag” which will have at least $130 in valuable coupons from area businesses that support the theater. They includec a free Entrée at Peppe’s Ristorante, a free VIP movie pass, A free haircut with a color application or vice versa from Jim the Hairdresser and much more.
