Pocono Mountains Tourism Industry Gets a Facelift Online

0

Pocono Mountains, PA – The Pocono Mountains is making a new splash online as the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau (PMVB) proudly announces their new and improved, integrated homepage for the 800poconos.com website.

The new homepage puts power into the hands of its users by providing an interactive experience, engaging them to browse a wealth of information on all things Pocono under a more ?resort? seasonal look and in harmony with the PMVB?s advertising campaigns. The new look encompasses visitor interaction and communication through social media channels such as Facebook and Twitter and offers viewing of 15 streaming live web cams. The facelift also introduces a geocentric approach to finding members/partners easier with a new flash map and orientation.

?The new flash map really allows for the PMVB to increase its member referrals, which is one of the main functions of a convention and visitors bureau,? says David West, Vice President of Marketing for the PMVB. ?The map allows consumers to see ?clusters? of product, i.e. all the B&Bs or resorts that make up our lodging product. The map also shows consumers place in space, in other words, where you are and what is nearby. It?s more of a geo sort, an alternative view to the traditional alpha or random order sort format.?

Every aspect of the new PMVB homepage analytics can be tracked, including the new alert function that allows for special announcements or promotions.

?The new homepage is informative, innovative, easy to use and extremely resourceful ? just like working with our PMVB team,? explained Carl Wilgus, president and CEO of the PMVB.

Understanding the need for form as well as function, the PMVB collaborated with longtime partner and leader in the field of interactive marketing, simpleview Inc., to research and develop the user-supported site.
