Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau launches live cameras

Visitors Bureau Offers Live Beauty Shots

Pocono Mountains, PA – Is it snowing? Are there skiers skiing? Take a live look at the Pocono Mountains (800poconos.com) with our four live cameras (800poconos.com/livecameras) and get a real-time view of different locations around the four-county region.

“The Pocono Mountains is where you want to be this winter… with its powdery conditions out on the slopes and crisp mountain air – the best way to share that is to show it,” said David West, vice-president of marketing for the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau (PMVB). “A picture is worth a thousand words, and a real camera view is worth a thousand paid photographers. That’s why we’ve taken the step of not only hosting the cameras on our official website (800poconos.com/livecameras), but also partnering with NBC Universal, Inc.’s Philadelphia and New York affiliates, NBC10 and NBC4.”

As released earlier in the season, the PMVB has a new winter campaign and competitive slogan called “Life’s Greater in the Pocono Mountains.” As part of this, live camera feeds from participating tourism partners are integrated with the news and weather on WNBC and WCAU showing the beauty shots from around the region. Current Pocono regional partners featured include Blue Mountain Ski Area, Shawnee Mountain, Fernwood Winter Fun Center and Woodloch Resort. Additional cameras will be added this spring/summer, such as ones at Lake Wallenpaupack and Camelbeach Waterpark.

The goal of installing these live cameras is to allow potential visitors to get a real live glimpse of the natural beauty and activities of the Pocono Mountains. Participate in our social media engagement with Twitter (@PoconoTourism) and Facebook (www.facebook.com/poconotourism) by sending and posting photographs of your Pocono winter experiences. To stay up-to-date and receive specials and discounts, text POCONOSKI to 77950 and be part of our mobile community. For more information on the Pocono Mountains, visit 800poconos.com.
